Hulkberry

Hulkberry is hybrid flower named for a strain that Leafly and AllBud both put at 27% THC and Royal Queen Seeds at up to 27%.

An OG Kush and Strawberry Diesel cross from Colorado

Leafly describes a cross of Strawberry Diesel and OG Kush bred by Royal Queen Seeds, and AllBud gives the same two parents. The breeder says the cross happened somewhere in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains and lists its feminized photoperiod seed as 65% sativa and 35% indica, the split Leafly shows too. AllBud labels the strain a sativa-dominant hybrid and says its name is said to come from very heavy buds and a berry flavour.

Three phenotypes, per the breeder

Royal Queen Seeds says plants mostly show the #3 phenotype, with OG looks and a subtle strawberry scent. Pheno #1 is close to an even mix of both parents, and pheno #5 leans closer to Strawberry Diesel. Colas stretch and swell during flowering like OG Kush, fruity berry aromas compete with fuel and lemon-lime scents, and the plant suits SOG or ScrOG training.

The breeder’s data sheet gives flowering in 60 to 70 days, an outdoor harvest in late September and heights of 3 to 5 feet indoors. A Leafly reviewer who has grown it for a couple of years calls the grow high-yielding and uncomplicated.

Popcorn nuggets, diesel and sour lemon

AllBud describes rounded, oversized popcorn-style nuggets in minty green with deep olive undertones, long, thin orange hairs and a dusting of tiny bright white crystals. Broken buds give sweet and sour citrus aromas with a strong diesel note that grows when burned, and the flavour is sharp sour lemon with spicy diesel and strong earth on the exhale.

The flavour tags on Leafly are berry, blueberry and blue cheese. One outdoor grower reports a smell of blueberries and then black licorice while flowering, and one vape reviewer reports a sour, herbal, slightly earthy taste with hints of diesel, strawberry and berry. Royal Queen Seeds describes earthy, fuel-flavoured smoke at first with a sweet and sour aftertaste.

What the 27% figure comes with

Royal Queen Seeds lists CBD as low. Leafly’s meters read mostly energizing, and its reviewers tag energetic and creative, with euphoric, happy, uplifted, focused, relaxed, talkative, giggly and hungry also mentioned. AllBud describes a fast, powerful, energizing, creative and euphoric high with a light, relaxed body feeling, and the breeder describes a long, happy head high with a creative side for experienced users.

Health Canada tells smokers and vapers to start with just 1 or 2 puffs and to keep the product at or below 10% THC, far under the 27% quoted for this strain. More hybrids are in our guide to the best hybrid strains, and other strains are in our hybrid flower.
