Chem Dawg

The 14 g and 28 g sizes of Chem Dawg carry a hybrid label. The name points to the strain that Leafly titles Chemdawg, with Chemdog as its other name.

Three spellings, one strain

According to Leafly, Chemdog is the official name, and Chemdawg took over as the usual spelling once other growers and breeders spread it. The name joins “Chem” and “Dog bud”, two names used for the same bud, Leafly explains. Variations on Chemdog, in its words, include Chem 91, Chem 4 and Chem Sis. Leafly reviewers sometimes write it as two words, Chem Dawg.

Diesel on the nose, pine and spice behind it

Leafly calls the aroma pungent and sharp, a distinct diesel note that can be smelled from far away. Its flavour tags read chemical, diesel and pungent.

AllBud lists chemical, diesel and pine flavours and diesel, earthy and pungent aromas. In its write-up the taste and smell are strongly spicy and plant-like, carrying just a hint of diesel but enough to betray a concealed grow. AllBud reviewers add chemical, gas and pine aromas and dank, herbal and menthol flavours.

One Leafly reviewer describes nugs in several shades of green with big calyxes and heavy trichome coverage, plus a sweet coffee-and-caramel smell on the cut they bought.

Caryophyllene up front

Caryophyllene leads Leafly’s terpene breakdown, with myrcene and limonene behind it. There is more on limonene, the citrus terpene in third place, in our limonene guide.

Strength and reported effects

Leafly’s THC figure is around 18% with 1% CBG, while AllBud shows 19%. Leafly describes a very potent strain whose cerebral side comes with a heavy feeling in the body.

Euphoric, relaxed, tingly, uplifted and creative are the top tags from Leafly reviewers, although its effects gauge reads mostly energizing. Its potency gauge shows more THC than the site average. AllBud’s users tag creative, euphoria, happy and relaxing.
